The Parthenope University of Naples has been carrying out its institutional role with passion since 1919 to help young students develop their talents. Currently in the University study about 15,000 students followed with great professionalism by about 320 teachers and 250 members of the administrative technical staff. Moreover, the Parthenope University has always been characterized as a higher education center focused on all technical-economic and environmental aspects related to the sea. Over the years, while maintaining this specificity, the University has developed further poles of advanced training and research in the fields of economics, law, engineering, technology, environment and sports science.

Beijing Normal University (BNU), a key university under the administration of the Ministry of Education, is a renowned institution of higher education known for basic learning in both the arts and the sciences. The School of Environment at BNU is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions for environmental research and education in China. The school is continuously embarking on construction of a comprehensive environmental discipline. There are three high-profile research laboratories and centers at the school, and three on-site experimental stations. Within the most recent years, two Industry-University-Research Cooperative Stations were established. The Research of the School is particularly targeted to river basins, with water as a focus, wetland-urban nexus as a connector, and eco-system conservation and protection as the ultimate goal. The prominent feature and strength of the research lie in the provision of systematic solutions for dealing with environmental and ecological challenges. Over the past years, a number of key research areas have been formed, including simulation of water environmental processes and effects, modeling of environmental and ecological processes and effects, theory and technology for environmental and ecological restoration, simulation and adjustment of urban ecosystems, which are respectively playing the leading roles at home and abroad.
Founded on August 6, 1868 as the “Scuola Superiore di Commercio” (Advanced School for Commerce), Ca’ Foscari University of Venice was the first Italian institution to deal with advanced education in Business and Economics. The original main office is still found in the grand gothic palace “volta de canal” (on the bend of the Grand Canal), in the heart of Venice. Today, Ca’ Foscari is a dynamic educational and research university, also embracing other social sciences, environmental sciences, and humanities. It has an internationally recognised leading role in dialoguing with Asia, and promotes sustainability through a dedicated programme.
Città della Scienza is an innovation hub dedicated to the dissemination of scientific and technological culture, as well as to the innovation of the educational and business systems.
Active at local, national and international level, Città della Scienza combines an articulated system of functions: a Science Centre dedicated to the public engagement in science, a Business Innovation Centre, for the development of innovative enterprises, start-ups and spin-offs; a Digital and Research on Advanced Manufacturing (D.RE.A.M.), and an Advanced Training Centre for professionals and innovative job development, in connection with the regional and national systems of research and university-level education.
Furthermore since 2006, Città della Scienza is a reference for the internationalisation of research and innovation systems acting as a partner of the Italian Government and Regione Campania for the implementation of networking and matchmaking programmes between Italian and Chinese academicians, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
